MetaTrader® 4 installation
Subsequently, you can find proper instructions for installing MetaTrader4 on your PC or server:
Step 1: Download the installation file.

• http://www.metatrader4.com/files/mt4setup.exe
Step 2: Open the installation program.
Step 3: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Choose language.
Step 4: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Confirm the copyright.
Step 5: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Confirm the licence agreement.
Step 6: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Choose the installation path.
Step 7: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Define the name of the program group.
Step 8: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Start the installation process.
Step 9: Installation of MetaTrader4 – Complete the installation and start the tool.
Step 10: Activate the demo-accounts.
Step 11: Use displayed server.
Step 12: Notate log in data and complete.
Step 13: In case of errors …
Step 14: ....missing Internet connection.
Step 15: Setting for the proxyserver:
a) Cancel the registration process.
b) Go to „extras“ in the MetaTrader-menu and choose options, or use the key combination Ctrl+O.
c) Use the button „proxy...“
d) Fill in your proxy data and press “ok”.
e) Close the process using „ok“
f) Repeat the account opening via the menu “file”.
g) Go back to step 10 to open an demo-account.
Installation of MetaTrader4 with your personal broker-account.
Step 1: Download the installation file.
You have to install and use the specific broker-MetaTrader-version.
Please check your brokers homepage where you can find the link for the download file for MetaTrader 4.
Step 2: Follow the steps 2 – 9 as shown for the demo-account above.
Step 3: In case you also want to have a demo-account at your personal broker in order to test strategies or similar, please follow the steps 10 – 12 as shown for the demo-account above. Otherwise use the button “cancel” as explained in step 10 for the demo-account.
Step 4: If you already received the log in for the real-account, you can connect with your account using this mask.
Step 5: Fill in your personal account data, choose an appropriate server (no demo-server) and select „log in“.
